The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,272 VND per USD on April 24, up 11 VND from the previous day.
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,970 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,573 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at most commercial banks saw rises.
At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,360 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,570 VND/USD, both up 10 VND from the same time on April 23.
BIDV raised both rates by 15 VND, offering the buying rate at 23,400 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,580 VND/USD.
Techcombank also added 20 VND to both rates, with the buying rate listed at 23,390 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,590 VND/USD.
During the week from April 20-24, the daily reference exchange rate was revised down on the first day and up on the four remaining days. It ended the week up 31 VND from Monday.
The rates listed at commercial banks fluctuated throughout the week, but mostly ended higher than at the beginning of the week./.
