The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,191 VND per USD on September 21, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week (September 18).
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,887 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,495 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks stayed stable.
At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,060 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,270 VND/USD, both unchanged from September 18.
BIDV also kept both rates unchanged at 23,090 VND/USD (buying) and 23,270 VND/USD (selling).
Similary, Techcombank listed its buying rate at 23,070 VND/USD and selling rate at 23,270 VND/USD, the same as on September 18.
During the week from September 14 to 18, the daily reference exchange rate was up on Monday but then followed a downward trend for most of the week before turning around to pick up on the last day of the week. It ended the week down 12 VND from Monday.
