To respond to the dispatch from HOSE, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) send the report on the banking system upgrade in the holidays on April 20 and May 01 and the interruption of internet banking in the period from May 04, 2020 to May 05, 2020 as follows:
- With the goal of modernizing the technology platform to ensure better customer experience as well as improving the quality of products and services, Techcombank periodically upgraded the banking system from April 29, 2020 to May 02, 2020. During the period, its services were temporarily unavailable (including Customer Service Center).
- After the upgrade, the Bank tested the new version. However, on May 04, 2020, the number of visitors increased dramatically, four times higher than usual. This lead the upgraded version to be unstable, affected access speed and interrupt transactions on internet banking channel. Techcombank immediately announced the interruption of services to its customers on its official media channel on the same morning (May 04, 2020). Besides, Techcombank tried its best to adjust the upgraded version and fixed problems to recover services.
- Until the afternoon of May 05, 2020, the services of internet banking basically restored by Techcombank.
